The Nuclear-Free Future Award

for a world without nuclear weapons, nuclear energy and uranium ammunition

27.03.2017

Negotiations for a treaty to ban nuclear weapons are underway at the United Nations, starting today!

TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SIGNED THE MONTREAL DECLARATION FOR A NUCLEAR-FISSION-FREE WORLD

According to Article 6 of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, all parties to the NPT have a legal obligation to participate in good faith in negotiations for the total elimination of nuclear weapons. (see here)

Our friends at ICAN have created this little postcard to use for states who are not attending the negotiations. These include Canada, the U.S.A., France and Germany. For a list of those who are not supportive of negotiations see here.

Feel free to Tweet or email the postcard to your elected representative and/or head of state with your concerns about why your country is not participating.

You can follow along using the hashtag #nuclearban and subscribe to RCW’s Daily Updates here.

The livestream is up too: (see here)
